El Taco has to be one of the best restuarants in Butte. They have friendly staff and fast service. the food remains excellent as it has been for years.
Let's start with expectations: this is a joint with $, not $$, $$$ or $$$$. I had nachos supreme for under $5 and it was more than I could eat and better than I expected. I travel a lot for work, and I've eaten out so much that I really don't enjoy it (only because I hate eating out without my family) whether I spend $5 or $50. So yes, any week I'm in town, I'll eat here again, probably once a week, maybe even twice.
For fast food, El Taco really surpasses the mark. They are a local favorite and although not a classy establishment, their food is good. Some days are better than others, but if you're looking for a local alternative to Taco John's or Taco Bell, this is the place. The chicken strips are my personal favorite along with the spuds with cheese.
Skip Taco Bell for this local Favorite in Mexican Fast Food. El Taco has been in Butte for as long as I can remember. They have excellent tacos, burritos and enchilladas. They have there own signature Tacolada that is a great dish to try. Don't forget to add the Spuds and Cheese to your order.
